Born and raised in postcolonial Mumbai, working at the intersection of food and culture, Diaspora Co. founder Sana Javeri Kadri slowly discovered that not much of the colonial systems had changed. At 23 years old, in the fall of 2017, Sana founded Diaspora Co. with just one spice. Today, they source 30 single origin spices from 150 farms across India and Sri Lanka and pay their farm partners an average of 6x above the commodity price. They are committed to sustainability, community connection, and inclusivity in all areas of their business.
